Another Phoenix Suns season has come to a close, prematurely once more.  Time to debrief and recap how all 14 players currently on the team’s roster fared during the 2014/15 season.  This is The Good, the Bad and the Ugly on Earl Barron

2014/15 Phoenix Stats: 16 games, 8.9 mpg, 2.0 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 0.3 apg, 0.3 spg, 0.1 bpg, 0.3 topg, 12-39 FG

Contract Status: Unrestricted Free Agent

The Good

– finished the season strong – last game put up 9 points, 4 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 block
– provides length, maturity

The Bad

– was DNP – Coach’s Decision almost as often as he appeared in a game
– nothing more than a marginal role player at best
– despite being 7-feet, only blocked two shots all season
– will turn 34 this summer

The Ugly

– shot 30.8% – and he’s a post player!

Conclusion

It’s nice to see guys like Earl Barron scrap their way out of the minor leagues to make it back into the NBA, but there’s no real future for him in Phoenix.
