Suns Schedule: The Week That Will Be: Feb 23-29

There’s no chance this week will be as eventful as last week was in Sunsville, but it is jam packed with four games, including a must-win versus Oklahoma City on national TV.

Mon, Feb 23rd vs Boston

Exiled Isaiah Thomas will look to stick it to the Suns as revenge for banishing him to the harsh Boston winter.  This is a game the Suns better win going away – the Celtics aren’t close to being on the same level as Phoenix this season.  Plus it’s a home game.  Better grab a W here.

Wed, Feb 25th at Denver

The lone road game of the week is a quick jaunt to the mountains of Denver.  The Nuggets are in such disarray this season, plagued by bad play, bad coaching, and plenty of infighting.   Sounds like the recipe for another Suns win.

Thurs, Feb 26th vs Oklahoma City

Now things get a touch more difficult in the schedule.  A home date, on national TV, against the team that has leapfrogged Phoenix in the standings and snatched the last Western Conference playoff spot.  The good news: Kevin Durant just had foot surgery and is on the shelf for a few weeks.  The bad news: Russell Westbrook is playing like a man possessed – he’s averaging a mind-boggling 28.9 points, 7.7 boards, and 9.6 assists over his last 10 games.  Still, with no Durantula, this is the perfect time for Phoenix to face their nemesis, especially in the cozy confines of the US Airways Center.

Sat, Feb 28th vs San Antonio

Another tough one, this time against the defending champs.  There was a time not so long ago that Phoenix was within sniffing distance of the Spurs for the seventh spot in the Western standings, but those days are long gone.  However, they enter this week having dropped two straight, and they have a road game in Sacramento the night before the have to face the Suns, so this game might be for the taking for Phoenix.

Projected record for the week: 2-2
