Suns Schedule: The Week That Will Be: Feb 16-22

The Suns are back in action this week after a 10 day All-Star break.  But with the NBA trade deadline looming, will the team return intact?

Thurs, Feb 19th – 3:00 pm Eastern – NBA Trade Deadline

Will he stay or will he go? And by “he”, do we mean Goran Dragic or Isaiah Thomas?  Both men have had their names floating about the world wide web in trade rumors the past few weeks, as the Suns appear like they might be ready to address their point guard logjam.  Which brings us to our poll:

Fri, Feb 20th at Minnesota

A perfect matchup for the struggling Suns to shake off the cobwebs from their long break from the court.  Minnesota is a callow team that can’t score or defend, but do have a few things going in their favor – they’re finally healthy, and they will be on their homecourt (actually they’re 6-21 at home, so never mind).  Oh, and that Andrew Wiggins kid seems to be figuring this whole NBA thing out now.  But still, this is a game that the Suns must and should win.

Sat, Feb 21st at Chicago

This game, however, is a different story – Chicago can score and defend.  Playing in Chicago the very next night will be a tough task.  A positive for Phoenix is that Chicago, oddly, has been much more effective on the road than at home this season (19-9 away, 15-11 home).  Plus breakout star Jimmy Butler is banged up, as is Kirk Hinrich. This game should be a contrast of styles – the Suns guard-heavy attack (unless they make a trade on Thurs) vs the Bulls best frontcourt in the NBA (Joakim Noah, Pau Gasol, Taj Gibson, Nikola Mirotic – the list goes on and on).

Projected record for the week: 1-1
